Organ Donor Foundation South Africa app for iPhone and iPad

The South Africa Organ Donor E-Card app allows you to register with the Organ Donor Foundation (ODF) of South Africa, and to carry your donor card on your smartphone. This allows you to express the fact that you wish to be an Organ Donor in the event of your death. The e-card also allow you to carry and display your next of kin information, which is important in the case of an emergency.

The organ donor app makes it simple and easy to register as a donor. Simply use the app to enter your ID/Passport number, some personal information and next of kin contact details and your registration will be complete.

This app also acts as an educational tool, addressing the procedures and steps that follow when someone is identified as a potential organ donor. In addition to detailed information about the donation procedure, and which organs/tissue can be donated, the FAQ section provides detailed answers to common donor questions. With this app you will have all necessary knowledge about organ donation regularly available to share with family and friends.

Your ID/Passport number is required for registration in order to uniquely identify you as on organ donor. It will be stored securely by the ODF and will not be displayed anywhere on the app. All of your personal information will be safeguarded within the framework of the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI-2013).

Your ID/Passport number is only ever used by the ODF (when queried) to confirm your status as an organ donor with medical practitioners. By registering as a SA organ donor you agree that medical professionals may have access to your personal information and the information of your next of kin. This information will only be used, if relevant, for the purposes of identifying your intention to be an organ donor.
